John Hartson moving to Edinburgh in the next two weeks Fact
Is he our new strikers coach?
Most possibly. You missed that one Tomo.

Don't know what to make of the Harston issue, sounds like jobs for the bhoys again! Definitely unhappy with most of Lennons other signings. None more so than Holt and Shinnie, I thought Shinnie would be a great capture, he was really good in his 1st game. Been very disappointing since. Catch 22, can't afford to keep Lennon, can't afford to get rid. Just have to fight on till McGinn and Fyvie are fit.

Scott Martin justified his inclusion today, got a great future ahead of him as long as we don't destroy him, perhaps Lennon will give some other youngsters a game!

I sat at Easter rd 2day and finally admitted to myself that the standard of football is not good enough, certainly not good enough to win that league, while excuses can be made for injuries to important players, which to be honest coincides with our worst displays, we have personnel to fill these positions, but I think with the wrong guys recently, commons will get stronger Martin is a must, shinnie needs dropped as do Bartley and holt, keatings mcgeoch gives us better options and Boyle is a never say die player exactly what we need, MR Lennon? Well let's not write him of yet.

Well Tomo that's big of you your admitting your wrong well done. Big L and myself were not getting at you were concerned about the team which has week to week getting worse. I'm going to disagree with both of you regarding shinnie I genuinely think he's a decent player although he's been poor recently but to be honest there isn't many getting pass marks at the moment. There's only one man that can change things and that's Lennon so hopefully he'll prove me wrong. If we get Hartson as a coach to me it's a great step to getting these strikers better jobs for the boys yes but let's just hope he does a turn. Merry xmas lads. Onwards and upwards hopefully.

A striking coach is all very good but he needs potential to work with. Holt and Graham have been in the game for ages and will not benefit from any further coaching. They are finished and not good enough for our team. Cummings he could work with and young Shaw has been earning rave reviews but what the team needs now is a proven goal scorer who will get the team 15 to 20 goals in the second half of the season to ensure our promotion. Providing coaching to our younger strikers will not get us promoted this year - that is more of a longer term project.

I sort of agree with you however your talking mince about getting a striker that will score 20-30 goals in half a season. Guys that can do that are worth millions and there isn't many going around especially in the lower leagues.

We have a striker that IMO would have scored 30 goals this season, until Lennon worked his special magic and made a £1.5 Million player almost worthless. JC'S goals to chances ratio was awful, if Sat's anything to go buy it's got worse! I think the Raith, Falkirk, Dun utd games were and are crucial and could define our season, we need 6 points from the next 2 games, I don't think anyone will be surprised if we don't get them. The momentum is with D Utd. Play off place!

As usual Hibby07 you need to get specs. I never said anything about 20 to 30 goals in the second half of the season.

Ok 1620 you want a striker to score 15-20 goals in a half season that's just not happening we need to keep this real.

Wining out first round Scottish cup tie would leave a minimum of 20 games left of the season, is it not conceivable for a striker to score 15 goals in that time
Just trying to keep it real?

Thanks tomo. The precise number of goals was not really the issue. The point I was making was that a forwards coach is not going to win us promotion this season. That is something we may need - not for me to say - but is certainly a longer term issue. What we do need is a proven goal scorer to convert the chances that the others are capable of creating in the second part of the season.
