Hi Ed, one of my mates mentioned that hibs and Celtic are discussing a potential deal for John McGinn which includes a fee+ Scott Allan and Ryan Christie can you confirm if any sort of deal is being discussed.

{Ed007's Note - There is talks of a deal for Allan but Christie won't be involved. Celtic have a long interest in McGinn since before Rodgers arrived but the intial money Hibs are looking for so far is a bit 'rich?' so they possibly could use the £3.5 million rated Allan aa a makeweight. :)
I'd like to see McGinn at Celtic but right now I don't see him displacing Ntcham or even Kouassi next to Brown and that's without Armstrong. The money stuff doesn't bother me seeing it isn't mine but if as is expected Armstrong moves on and we replaced him with McGinn who'd be happy to be a squad player I'd be happy.

Thanks, do you think there is any chance of McGeouch resigning for Celtic or will he be Aberdeens solution when Christie returns to Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any Celtic interest in resigning McGeouch, Aberdeen are interested but Neil Lennon is hopeful he'll stay and I think he will unless a half decent English Championship side fancy him.}

Ed as always I appreciate your comments however I can’t understand the part about the amount of money Hibs are looking for which is? . At the moment the 4.5 million that has been branded about is just rumours however at the age he is and getting MOM in his last Scotland gave I genuinely think he’s worth every penny. Celtic and servo for a number of years paid ludicrous prices for foreigners that were mediocre at best yet they never part with decent money for home grown players. Every club in Scotland never get the true value of players and in reality only the Brown/ Thompson era did we get what we deserve. I see McGinn as a Scotland midfielder for the next 10-15 years and at this precise moment is one of a few Scottish top class midfielder. I personally think 4.5 is a fair price although possibly at the highest end. Every club in this league need to get value for players in need for us to develop and progress. Celtic in particular need home grown players for Europe and at this minute there’s no one better.

{Ed007's Note - The majority of transfer fees are paid over a number of installments and the 'problem' is that Hibs want the bulk of the transfer fee up front which is even stalling potential suitors in England. I'm sure when he does eventually leave Hibs and it gets down to the nitty gritty they'll make sure they get the best possible deal for themselves.
Let's say the price is the suggested £4.5 million clubs might be looking to pay it at £1.5 million a season over 3 years whereas Hibs are say looking for £3 million as a first installment.}

Sorry for the late response. Yeah I understand that and appreciate it however Hibs or any other club just want value for money, why should we let multi million pound teams give us money in instalments whilst they’ll pay top dollar for players that are not tried and tested. I’m fairly sure Mcginn will end up at Celtic and obviously the deal will suit both clubs in the end, As you know Hibs took a gamble on Mcginn a gamble no one else was willing to take and although the lad has bags of talent it’s through the hibs coaching and training that’s got him to where he is today and I genuinely think he’s a 4 million pound player especially when I see the shect that go for more.

{Ed007's Note - I agree with you about McGinn mate but most transfers are paid in installments.}
