It's looking more and more as if our goalie on Saturday will be Lewis "play anywhere" Stevenson or Steve Marsella. We need more than eleven players!

Scott Allen is a player to build the team around, and should be very important for the future. Nevertheless, Hibs may well feel it is good business to sell him. My question is whether The Rangers have a spare million to buy him. No doubt they could offer players out of contract better terms than most SPL teams, but do they have cash to splash on transfer fees?

Agreed that Watson looks a good acquisition. I'm not sure we should have let Callum Booth go out on loan again, though. Or is there another defender about to come in?
Alan Stubbs said that he had had no contact with James McFadden, but he wouldn't rule out anything. I don't know how Hibs do things but I would not think that the Coach would negotiate contracts. Rather, the Coach would recommend a player, and the CEO would contact the player (or his agent) and take things from there.
Ross Caldwell is still on the team list on the Hibs website, as is Liam Craig. Of possible interest is the continued appearance there of Daniel Boateng and Abdellah Zoubir. Was this just sloppy editing, or is there more to it?

Would you have John Collins back?
He's left Celtic, so is available for no compensation. IMO he did a good job ten years ago. Only a dressing room with a few dodgy players forced him out (with his head high).
Don't think we could afford Neil Lennon or Malky Mackay even if we wanted them.
HIGHER HIBS
1. "It's not only the players who are to blame" - James McPake
Discuss the validity of this statement, and suggest who he was referring to.
2. Re the match v Hamilton at ER, calculate TB's effectiveness in the following fields:
(a) team selection
(b) motivation
(c) tactics
(d) ability to change tactics during the match
(e) use of substitutes
3. TB's tactics consist of hoisting the ball into the opponents' penalty box and hoping for the best. How effective would this be if none of his strikers were particularly good in the air? Include at least one adjective in your answer.
4. Compare and contrast three managers who could do a better job for Hibs than TB. Do not include yourself or Jim Duffy. Give reasons for your answers.
TB seems obsessed with getting crosses into the box. Most of Hibs' chances and most of our (few) goals have come from headers. I suspect this style of play and these tactics would not suit Griffiths, Heffernan and others. Is there no place for a through ball behind the defender? Hibs need a lot of things at the moment, and perhaps subtlety is second only to luck.
