Is it time to ask Petrie where the money went?

Sell Cummings for over a million. (I agree, gutted)
Win Championship. (Happy with that)
Record season tickets sold for the second consecutive season. (Tells a story)
TV revenue we didn't have before. (Good, No? )
Cup semi. (Good again, No? )

We couldn't compete with League 1 clubs wage offers for a 250k player. (Probably could but decided not to, that's the difference)
That's painful! (It's not really, Hibs are known for being frugal, bringing through youngsters and not spending beyond their means) You have stated quite a few positives but dwell on the negatives. We are heading in the right decision imho. We are in a good place and throwing money at things doesn't guarantee success)

We've spent a grand total of £150k on a goalkeeper. (Great bit of business)

Signed a few for free, released a few for free.

I'm happy with the young lads breaking through (again, tells a story, money well invested in previous years, training facilities etc) ) but we need more quality in and soon. (We are as strong now as we have been in a long long time)
We won't get it without speculating or investment of some kind. (I'll leave it at. let's wait and see. ) GGTTH.

Yes, all of the plus points were good. That was the point - we made some money.

We also gave away 30+ goals and only added a handful of them from midfield though.

We have four first team forwards;
One's just signed.
One's just breaking into the side.
One's consistently terrible and needs to go.
One's not as bad but has been told he's surplus.

We're not going to get through the season with two slightly built forwards that are unproven, one that's just not good enough and another the manager doesn't want.
Well we could but it'd be frustrating.

We're also not going to find 20-30 goals on free transfers either. (not ones we can afford wages for at least, unless we sign Church and he somehow turns out to be the bargain of the century)

So as we said;
We've made some money.
We've remained largely unchanged.
We've stepped up a level in competition but let a 30-40 goal trio of forwards leave and have replaced one of them.

Petrie hasn't changed mate the guys been a burden for 25 years. Anyone thinks any different is deluded. The club will never go forward until we rid ourselves of him and farmer. Leanne Dempster has done marvellous since coming in but ultimately Petrie is her boss. Like every other Hibs fan I'm delighted at winning the cup but truth be told we were pants in the league.

The goal keeper and defence are the same as the Championship team apart from the fact we lost Forster. In midfield we lost Fyvie and got Swanny, ok! Up front we lost Cummings, Holt, Keatings and brought in Murray. The squad is certainly not as good as it was last year and this year we are in the Prem and should be trying to improve it to make sure we are capable of facing the obvious challenges that lie ahead.

We had a chance to do just that, but we let a number of young talented players slip thru our fingers imo. Their should be plenty cash available as has been pointed out, for whatever reason, Petrie's not spending it, Yet! As for the young guys coming thru, our record is absolutely abysmal, when was the last time we had 4 potentials hitting the 1st team?

Looking at the fixtures this season I reckon we have a great chance of 58 points enough to put. Is into 4th place we need another striker and an attacking midfielder which the money is available for but Lennon Petrie are not going to spend just to show face believe in the club and management it's going to be ok.

I see a few texts about possible signings saying "he failed at this club, he failed at that club" what kind of thinking is this? Were you saying Cummings failed at Hearts or did it stop Villareal from signing Diego Forlan? It means nothing, absolutely nothing, could be at a club not getting service, played out of position, has issues with the manager etc etc etc. All that matters is how they perform when they are at your club.

I don't think he will hit 30 but I still think he could easily hit 20, He has scored regularly against the PL teams in cup competitions and even though Hearts and Rangers were in the Championship at the time they were both equally as good as pretty much any Prem team with the exception of Celtic and he banged in a few against them. My point re Griffiths referred back to you saying Cummings needed 100 chances to score 20 goals. How many chances have you watched Aguero spurn this season?

I agree with you on this Big L, was just discussing this at work with a Celtic fan yesterday and he said the same thing, that it would be likely that McGinn would not be guaranteed gametime at Celtic. Much better for him to remain at Hibs, a good season in the Premier League could give him much more to choose from.

Quick question. Leigh Griffiths missed about 5 chances playing for Scotland in his last game against Slovenia. Hit the woodwork a couple of times but they are still classed as missed chances. Does this make him a poor striker?

Aye, Spot on Tomo, people overlook the fact that Cummings is only 21. Big L, tell me the last striker who scored over 60 goals in 3 seasons playing for HIbs please? I cannae wait to see your answer tbh.

Quick question Big L, Season 1, Did Cummings move? No would be the answer to that. Season 2, Did Cummings move? Oh, No would be the answer again. Season 3, You should know the question and the answer by now I think. Bottom line is. Cummings stated that when he missed his penalty against Hamilton and Hibs went down he wanted to stay until we got promoted again. He has done that yet you seem to think you know his intentions better than Cummings himself does. For someone who in your words "doesn't want to play for the club he has exceeded what most Hibs strikers that have gone before him have done. Also, bear in mind the lack of minutes he got at the start of this season and think about his tally. Had he played most games from the start he would no doubt have been nearer the 30 goal mark this campaign. People like yourself having a go at current players because you don't personally like them is not what "supporting" your club is all about. Especially when you are so far off the mark.
