lennon saying today that he may still make more signings.

Hibsboy

1.) 06 Aug 2017 14:39:56
He said it the other day.

If the window ends without more in he's happy with the business done.
The statement made about business being over and done with wasn't made by him.
If the right kind of quality comes up he'll try to sign it, he admitted there's one position he'd still look at but nothing is happening just now.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 14:44:39
Do you think he might be talking about Commons? He's been on the box twice this W/ E wi Sky, he might fancy a crack at that, replacement for McCann maybe.

3.) 06 Aug 2017 17:40:12
Maybe.
I think it's wide left still. Whether he fancies Commons for that or not I don't know.
Swanny has been great so far but we don't have any natural attacking cover out on the left if he's out through loss of form or injury and he scores more from through the middle too.
It's pleasing to see Stokes putting in some work for the team, was only 20mins but he was willing and linked up well - I think Lennon has tried to build a front two like he had at Celtic, Murray runs his socks off and gets into the scraps in the box like Hooper used to. Never gives them a minute's peace and that will give Stokes and the others the space to play.

I know I've given Stokes a hard time, but if he carries on like yesterday and genuinely wants play and put the effort in I'm happy with him coming back.

4.) 06 Aug 2017 20:29:28
McGinn was good for most of the match yesterday, he gave the guy Osman a torrid time, I actually enjoyed the battle between them, it was fair and hard. McGinn looked as if he had turned in to a man over night, he's bulked up and he's trying hard to control the midfield. Lennon obviously been talking to him. I'm still a bit worried he might go before the window closes, hard to imagine RP turning down an offer. I'm also hoping that Stokes won't upset Murray's game or Lenny doesn't move Murray wide. The lad was brilliant yesterday, he fights for every ball, he's a big unit, he's pacey, hard, good in the air, he's got so much passion from the second he walks on the park, it must rub off on the rest of the team. They should stick him and Boyle on 5yr contracts now.

5.) 07 Aug 2017 03:52:44
Agreed.

I don't see McGinn going in this window though.
He's young, he's only been with us a couple of seasons and won things and the squad is building and progressing nicely as is.
He's happy at the club and has obviously taken the gaffer's views on board and wants to improve himself.

Celtic won't buy him just now.
Championship sides won't pay enough for him right now either it seems.

I'd like him to stay at least this season and I think he'd like to take a proper crack at the Scottish Premiership too, so he may well see his deal out then go.

Things Leanne put in place from the beginning are coming together for us now, I'm genuinely excited for the next few seasons ahead if we can keep the squad balanced.

6.) 07 Aug 2017 11:49:20
I agree with hoping that McGinn stays and extends his contract maybe with some sort of release in there because when he does go st mirren are due 33% of sell on figure
I also think there's a chance of a burn out in McGinn before Xmas he's looking fitter and sharper due to non stop training
He has never stopped training thinking he wod be called up for England game and carried on right through to pre season.

7.) 07 Aug 2017 13:49:17
The sell-on clause was why I think he won't go until at least next summer, we'll want to maximise our return on the fee paid and he hasn't shown any signs of wanting away because he's happy at the club.
Aiming for European football won't hurt that at all either if we can get it.

There is the possibility of burning out but if he shows signs of it by Christmas we have more than enough in the squad to get by while he recovers.
He's always made himself available and put the graft in despite a long hard season before so a fitter meatier McGinn will hopefully cope better with it now.

Do you know something we don't?

2.) 31 Jul 2017 00:19:28
heard Friday deal is signed and will be announced early next week.

Looking at our new 6ft 3in striker and the way he plays he looks the real deal and a sturdy hard player like mixu was.

Hibsboy

1.) 20 Jul 2017 18:05:31
From what I watched on YouTube he's not massively mobile but he makes the right runs, looks strong and can attack a cross properly.

Hibs saying that they don't not expect anymore business's in this transfer window.

Hibsboy

1.) 03 Aug 2017 00:00:07
That gives us a squad of 24. 2 keepers. 9 defenders which includes Porteous, not sure if he will loan him out for game time. 7 midfielders which includes Fraser Murray and quite right too imo. 6 strikers which includes Graham who might be away, 2 Prem teams and 3 Champioship teams keen on him and Oli Shaw, who might go out on loan. If they go, squads 22. We look to be fine all over the park. Up and at them!

{Ed007's Note - 3rd place - at least - is looking good big yin.}

2.) 03 Aug 2017 01:18:33
I'd take that now, it's certainly not going to be easy, that's for sure. Lot of good work done by most of the club's, a lot of good signings, loan players as well. I'm actually quite impressed and I think this could be a very competitive season.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 11:20:50
From a member of the playing staff at Inverness, he reckons that Graham deal to return to Ross County almost sealed.
Makes sense.

4.) 03 Aug 2017 13:36:35
Motherwell was the other club interested in Graham. We have quite a small squad, theirs always a few injuries and that basically means the whole squad or near enough will be stripped for games, which keeps everyone involved.
