Wow - It's true . Stokesy is back!
No matter what you think of him that's a huge signing for the Hibbies.
A statement of intent. This team is as strong as any I've seen. Perhaps with McLeish's team with Latapy n Sauzee in it, just the exception.
Regardless we're back. If we can get him banging in 15 or more goals alongside one of the murray boys we'll be right up there. Given our defence is also excellent and pretty good midfield, do we need anyone else? Looking forward to Saturday against Partick.
BTW at the supporters meeting on Monday, Leeanne Frank and Tracy reported that there were still1100 folks that had a season last year but have not renewed yet. If you know any of them, the club said they'd try and help out if they can, if they have a problem or issue. GGTTH

Email reverted to old details after last season and so missed out on the payment plan abd thus can't afford it.
Still a bit miffed now since I got help from the ticket office to set it all up for last season and no-one mentioned there being any old info that could conflict in future.
No help offered this time either.

Yes and no.
Who misses out if we sign him?
He's not a wide player - he's much better playing in the middle and just drifting out into the inside wide channels to link up.
Doesn't get into the box to try to finish things as much as Fraser Murray and doesn't have the bite of McGinn or the other sturdier players.
Don't get me wrong, I've wanted him permanently since he left and think we've missed his set-piece deliveries, but we signed other players to fit a system that wouldn't suit him.

Just back from the supporters meeting at ER. Leanne, Frank and Tracy in attendance. Not been to one of these before and it was very interesting. Leanne very open and Tracy and Frank also great wealth of info.
Hibernian FC has truly turned a corner. 2.5 hours of Q&A re Hibs. Leanne allowed herself to be questioned in everything Hibs and Scottish football. What a great ambassador for Hibs FC and Scottish Football she is.
Stokes deal very much alive but Hibs not being held to ransom and still very much active in the search for talent. So much behind the scenes stuff going on for the better. Some little things and some really quite amazing big things. She asked for some stuff to remain in the room but the forward thinking quite is amazing considering where we were a few years ago. Imaginative ideas being not only considered but adopted and taken forward. Sincerely trying to implement supporters desire's on and off the pitch. Keep your ears to the ground and eyes open. Agreed.
While Lennon is an optimist and sets high targets it looks like he's building something progressively.
We have a nice mix of experience and raw youthful ability with more of the squad the kind of pros that put the shift in for the badge.
While we'd like a bigger name in up front I'm not overly worried if we sign another forward like Simon Murray - works hard and gets the scrappy goals we haven't had for a long time. I think he'll feed off big Deivy really well this season.

Keep McGinn, McGeough stays fit, sign Hendo and Moult and I think we could fight it out for the best of the rest, maybe even give the tic a sore one over the course of the season. Hopefully in a cup final.

I was also at the meeting and have been at a few and your bang on Leanne is doing a marvellous job however I won't be truly happy until Petrie is out. He has been a Bain in our existence for 25 years and he's still her boss.

I think Hendo will come when McGinn goes. Probably next summer.
We have Martin (I wish he played more, he's good enough) and Fraser Murray too.
Another striker and a quality wide player for midfield before anything in the middle and we're sorted really.

I look at Whittaker as a FB Boyle is a striker according to Lennon and we 4 or 5 mids a game, don't see young Fraser playing regularly 1st season.

I was disappointed Harris was released too.
I can only assume both him and Stanton didn't put enough work in in training since they were both talented enough to do a job for us.

We would need a lot more than a couple to have a fabulous squad.
Our team was really poor in the 2nd half of season! On paper our cup run was great but that semi was a shocker, too. Our cup final has blinded people's view of what happened in the rest of the season!

Mr Aware you are 100% bang on with regards our league form. However you must concede that the final proved what they are capable of doing when they face a team not set up purely to stop us playing! We still have a team capable of winning the championship but we have to toughen up that defence!

Any SPL squad is capable of beating Rangers too but it doesn't mean they have fabulous squads.
Having said that, our squad should've been 10 pts minimum ahead of Falkirk, which they weren't. Was this the players fault or manager's I think a bit of both.
GLORYHIBS - "1 of the best squads ever" - Stop getting carried away. Stevenson and Hanlon constantly had lackadaisical defending and the Championship now makes them look like decent players. If we are to finish top 5 in SPL next season we will need to make many signings. Not a whole team but still.

We've seen a steelly determination from hibs to bring in, build and hold onto the best players recently. Interesting to see where we are tomorrow. Will we still have all of our best players or will some go? Or maybe we'll be even stronger than we are right now 5pm wednesday. Fingers crossed for the latter.

Would you have John Collins back?
He's left Celtic, so is available for no compensation. IMO he did a good job ten years ago. Only a dressing room with a few dodgy players forced him out (with his head high).
Don't think we could afford Neil Lennon or Malky Mackay even if we wanted them.

Yes agreed to all of the aforementioned comments but we have signed Efe Ambrose, Danny Swanson, Simon Murray and Ofir Marciano. Also re-signed Martin Boyle, Liam Fontaine, Sir David Gray, Darren McGregor, Lewis Stevenson, Marvin Bartley and Ross Laidlaw. Not too shabby at all. We've done business early. Sure we need strikers but in Lennon we trust. Be patient folks. Half of this squad won us the Scottish Cup a year ago - remember :) GGTTH.
