Lennon on TVs saying he might still sign a player in the next week or so, wonder if it's commons as they can still sign him on an emergancy loan for 90 days

We got Commons the last time because we had midfielders out! What would be the reason for it now? Just asking like.

2.) 03 Feb 2017 17:00:01
Commons wants game time as celtic wrap up the league, he wants a send off from the Celtic fans and Brendan Rodgers I doubt will deny him that once the leagues in the bag and he can start resting his bigger players. As good as he is or would be at ER his hearts not in it with us. He's definitely had a choice of a stay and farewell dance or a pay off and go to Hibs. Maybe Next season.

{Ed007's Note - Why should Commons get match time to say goodbye over a young lad who's working his butt of in training? I'd be disappointed if Rodgers fed his and his wife's already over inflated egos like that. Bif Efe never got to say goodbye.}

Big Efes to let sign was up and bags packed before the ink was dry on his new contract. Commons was given a choice, a fan favourite. Why wouldn't he get to say goodbye, celtic could pay him off and let him go enjoy his football, they don't need to pay him the same money to turn up to training.

He'll get a run out. Basically if he wanted to be at ER he'd be here. He can't expect to leave Celtic and make the same money he has been if he stays in scotland with his family, he's not getting any younger. Any loan deal was halted by himself.

4.) 03 Feb 2017 20:21:48
Anyone who thought the money wasn't relevant to Commons was naive. It's a year since he played for Celtic, if he doesn't get the chance to take a bow it could be 17 months of playing with Celtic Dev team. What a way to finish your career.

5.) 03 Feb 2017 22:30:23
His career is far from over and I don't think he's ever played for the development team he's trained in the last year and had. Bounce games but his first competitive game in a year was with hibs, but your right money obviously does matter and why should it not, personally I would pay hibs for a game but everyone's different.

What pi---s me off is they tell you nowt! They're worse than the masons with all their secrets. Why not just tell us why Commons and Stokes didn't sign. My point Tomo was that Commons could end up going 17 months without a game for Celtic and that's no way to end his career with them, and all for the cash. I said at the very beginning this deal wouldn't work unless he got a satisfactory pay off. I said he woudn't turn his back on £18K a week, check my posts on this subject. You said the money didn't count! All he's done is piss us around for months, during which time we should have been concentrating on signing players that wanted to come to us. A boost at this time could make the difference between winning this league or not!

7.) 05 Feb 2017 03:41:49
First of all he's not bn messing us around for months because we signed him on an emergency loan only, and we liked what WE saw so we try to extend the loan or sign him
Secondly Celtic football club were the people playing hardball not commons, waiting for a last minute club to offer more than hibs two which did? but commons refused because he wanted to come to hibs, Celtic priced hibs out of a further loan deal and also would not give commons what he wanted as a pay off.

8.) 05 Feb 2017 10:05:04
The only thing you have said that has any relevance is that Celtic wouldn't give him what he wanted as a pay off! That was always going to be the problem. His choice was stay for the money or play, if he had wanted to play for us he had to take what was on offer from Celtic and Hibs. Why should they pay for another club to have his services.

9.) 05 Feb 2017 13:44:55
Regardless off whether commons sits in the stand at celtic or leaves with his pay off, the sum of money celtic pays out stays the same (in there eyes) . It's contracted to him whether he stays or he goes. He's not playing, therefore not contributing. Why would celtic play hard ball and stand in his way? If hibs paid a percentage of his wage every week then it knocks money off Celtics bill contracted to the player who is not in there plans. An easy one between the 2 clubs. He's not prepared to go any further than Edinburgh given his family situation. he's almost definitely going to have to take a wage drop eventually to suit him personally. I think the break down in talks stopped at his demands.

10.) 05 Feb 2017 16:52:29
He can walk tomorrow! He takes what he's offered from Celtic and he is free to sign for whoever he wants as a free agent.

11.) 06 Feb 2017 01:17:38
Their is a rumour that Hibs are waiting for Commons back injury to clear up before bringing him in on an emergency loan basis. If that's the case, then someone needs to explain the emergency loan rule for me!

12.) 06 Feb 2017 13:52:23
As you mentioned before no clarity between hibs and fans regarding transfers and where were at with them, at the end of the day no fans no club! This should not be forgotten we don't want to be going backwards, as for the loan deal rules you've got me?

Would have been nice to seen new faces but in honesty no point in just buying for buying sake we have a strong enough squad to get back to big time and pump the Herts.
