Update on McGinn. I havn't posted for a few days as nothing new until now. As i reported earlier McGinn only wants to go to celtic. Makes it hard for hibs to negotiate as team McGinn aren't interested in going elsewhere. I am now more confident than ever that a deal will be done, ballpark £2mil and Allan on loan. Loan deal means no extra cash to st mirren. Hibs want celtic to pay st mirrens cut.

Surely hibs have the say about where he goes if a bid of £3m came in I would take it contrary to what mcginn says after all hibs hold the contract? Just asking if this is the deal on the table I hope they refuse this is not the best deal for hibs imo.

Loan deal for Allen would mean we can sign a pre-contract with him in January. I’d take that.

It's the best deal hibs can get under the circumstances. If a player wants to go to specific club, he can. He hasn't handed in a transfer request so that strengthens the case that hibs do not have a say. Scenario is either he goes for £2mil + a loan player/ s now or walks away at the end of the season for nothing. McGinn was always bought by hibs to be developed and sold. Hibs cannot afford to let £2mil walk out the door. It isn't good business sense. Hibs could agree a transfer with another club, but if the player says he doesn't want to go there, he wont. As celtic need players, the deal needs to be done, hence why they are willing to deal now rather than wait until january. That gives a little power to hibs, but not much. Hibs want scott allan but celtic don't want to give him up as they see him as a sellable assett. If the deal was (from hibs view) £2mil + allan and johnston (who is a player hibs have just enquired about) on loan and celtic pay st mirrens cut, it would be done. Personally, with what i know now, i think the deal will be circa £2mil + youth loan player. Hibs will sign Allan in a seperate deal. All undisclosed fee.

Although i know many and hibs are a club to be admired for going in the right direction, no i'm not a hibs fan. I just thought i would share what i know. As i said, i'll leave it at that.
