Delighted Lennon has started the clearout early and some of the ex-Celts linked would prove shrewd business. Efe and Stokes all but agreed Maloney offered deal if rumours are to be believed Mulgrew also of interest to the gaffer as is Whittaker. I'm a massive McGinn fan but Rodgers has publicly expressed interest now might be the time to think long-term. I'd trade JM for Hendo, Allan and GMS and I still think we could hold out for 500k. Expecting Swanson's arrival to be followed with genuine quality.

Whittaker, Maloney, MULGREW!
NO, NO, NO

3 players to bring in HOPING they could maybe "still do a job".

We need to freshen up and stay relevant to the Scottish game. Look at Rangers, old heads don't win games up here. We need fighters, people who would feel privileged to come fight for the jersey.

I hope half these rumoured transfers remain only rumours. Get a grip folks.

In principle I have a problem with loading our team with ex/ current Celtic players. Problem is some of them are really good players.
However Henderson, Allan and Stevens in a change for McGinn I could live with.
Don't want Stokes back. Prefer to remember as a hero of 21/ 05/ 16. He carries too much baggage now. Would have liked Mulgrew a few years ago but he is past his best now. Ambrose could be a useful addition to our defence as he has already shown.

1620 I could live wi that, 3 seriously good players imo. The only problem as I see it, is that we would also need cash as well to pay of St Mirren for their % share of McGinn's sale. Their should be enough to do that deal if we get the right price for McGinn.

Mulgrew is 31 years old? Whittaker 32? Maloney 34?
All still very good players which I would welcome at Easter, Rd rangers old heads were there better players so that theory is out the window, stokes playing as a number 10 behind Cummings and Boyce bite your hand off!

I heard a rumour that Whittaker will be back in Scotland next season but it will be with Rangers on 8K a week. I think that was an option when it looked like SDG was maybe leaving, not needed now. I have to wonder why Lennon would want Maloney when we've just got Swanson? I have to agree wi 1620, this is a chance to get some young exciting players and a few quid!

Barton? Senderos? Kranjcar? Aye some impact they had at ibrox (that's that one out the window)
Deluded if you think that because these boys have played down south that they will come back up world beaters, come on mate wake up. You clearly have no idea how it works up here, it's a hunger game, these boys mentioned have lost there hunger. We've good foundations right now, start bringing in to much experience and you knock the balance and lose your changing room. Buy smart not obvious.

3 players who for one reason or another did not feature in most of rangers games only proves your being selective, to try and justify your stupid first statement, I also trust Lennon to sign players with passion and hunger or to sign players who may need a fresh challenge to reignite there passion and hunger no matter what age they are frank sauzee, Russell Latapy mixu where brought to Easter Rd many thought over the hill? I rest my case.

{Ed007's Note - Just catching up here and I'll say that Maloney would be a better signing for Hibs than Commons. He would be a great example and inspiration to young players and would still be a quality SPFL player.

Not sold on any of it besides Efe to be honest.

I'd rather keep McGinn obviously. But if it happened then;

GMS - maybe
Hendo - definitely
Allan - No. He's talented, but only ever worked for himself and we were a better team without him. He also disrespected the club and the fans trying to force his move to Rangers for far less than his worth, he can rot in the Celtic development squad for me.

Commons - I could live with if the deal is done early and he's fit for the season starting.

Maloney - I'm undecided. He's a good pro and will have the brain still but at 34 we'd be lucky to get 2 full seasons out of him on higher wages than we can reasonably justify.

Whittaker/ Mulgrew - same as above.

Stokes - I'll always thank him for last May, but he still carries the same attitude he always has and it wrecked squad morale and our league form for two months when he came in last time.
Him and Cummings wouldn't/ couldn't link up at all.
Also Lennon couldn't get him to play/ behave at Celtic, why would now be any different?

I just don't fancy filling the side with old Celtic players, especially when theirs a few talented young players surplus to requirement. I don't see Hibs/ LD allowing that to happen. Your right about the Cummings -Stokes pairing, it was crap! One things certain, if Stokes comes JC's away. Stubbs was a bit soft wi the players, I don't think Lennon will be, surely he can sort him out. I think him and Gray had a wee set to. Stokes is older now got a family, maybe calmed down a bit, just have to keep him away from the Elvis impersonators.

3 players for one reason or another didn't play? Yes because they couldn't handle the game, pure and simple. As for the likes of mixu, latapy and sauzee they came and played at a time were Scottish football thriving off a more mature style, you'll find most of the teams at that time were producing teams of experience, the average spl age was greater. Younger players have received more of a chance over the years due to lack of funds. It's had an impact on the intensity of the football here.

To be fair Mixu played off the cut above that Latapy, Sauzee and often Zitelli were - the game here back then wasn't producing the fitness and conditioning of down south or abroad either so they had an advantage of sorts and we set up in a way that used their strengths really well.

Don't forget we spent a lot of money relatively to put that team together too, it wasn't like the academy side Mowbray inherited and added to with some real bargains like Boozy, David Murphy and later big Rob Jones.

Big L - Cheers, I thought it was just me that saw that from the way others gushed at the time.
I hope she doesn't too.
It was rumoured Stokes trained with the kids after that incident so I'm not sure he was too soft.
