Hibs interested in Kane Hemmings, think he is a back up plan if we are priced out of a move for MacLaren.

With McGinn and McGeouch looking likely to be off in the summer I think that hibs should target Stevie Mallan from Barnsley, Ryan Edwards from Partick (he seems good pals with Maclaren) and Ali Crawford from Hamilton who is out of contract at the end of the season.

First of all you can add Allen and maclaren to your list of departures Crawford and Edwards playing in teams at the wrong end of the league and not MY type of players Stevie Mallan has 1 year on his contract getting payed champion ship wages that hibs can’t afford.

2.) 15 Apr 2018 23:05:16
Don't you think that if McGinn goes to Celtic then a deal may be struck where Allan moves to Hibs in part exchange.

3.) 16 Apr 2018 04:50:45
NO because I don’t think McGinn will end up at Celtic and Allan wod have to take a wage cut 10k at Celtic? It’s not happening.

4.) 16 Apr 2018 09:03:32
Mallan's like Allan, they've both got a big call to make whether they want to play or just rack up the dosh for not even making the squad most weeks.
The Barnsley boys could be on a pay cut if they don't survive in the Championship (looks like), might make Mallan more affordable (seems he wasn't even on bench (again! ) on Sat for a pretty important game. )

Best we can hope with McGinn is a sale and loan back deal - but that's a non-starter if my friends in black pudding country are right, they tell me Mowbray interested in McGinn if Blackburn go up AND if Mowbray doesn't go back to West Brom.

5.) 16 Apr 2018 13:36:26
If Mowbray wants him at Blackburn surely he wod still want him at West Brom?

6.) 17 Apr 2018 13:30:29
Ive heard Allan coming to jibs and McGinn to septic plus £3m also heard kenny miller coming in as player coach.

7.) 20 Apr 2018 23:28:25
Mmmmmm if that’s right Allen’s willing to cut his wages by more than half? So far in his career this hasn’t bn the case?

Hi Ed, one of my mates mentioned that hibs and Celtic are discussing a potential deal for John McGinn which includes a fee+ Scott Allan and Ryan Christie can you confirm if any sort of deal is being discussed.

Hibs2105

{Ed007's Note - There is talks of a deal for Allan but Christie won't be involved. Celtic have a long interest in McGinn since before Rodgers arrived but the intial money Hibs are looking for so far is a bit 'rich?' so they possibly could use the £3.5 million rated Allan aa a makeweight. :)
I'd like to see McGinn at Celtic but right now I don't see him displacing Ntcham or even Kouassi next to Brown and that's without Armstrong. The money stuff doesn't bother me seeing it isn't mine but if as is expected Armstrong moves on and we replaced him with McGinn who'd be happy to be a squad player I'd be happy.

1.) 05 Mar 2018 00:34:16
Thanks, do you think there is any chance of McGeouch resigning for Celtic or will he be Aberdeens solution when Christie returns to Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any Celtic interest in resigning McGeouch, Aberdeen are interested but Neil Lennon is hopeful he'll stay and I think he will unless a half decent English Championship side fancy him.}

2.) 05 Mar 2018 19:33:08
Ed as always I appreciate your comments however I can’t understand the part about the amount of money Hibs are looking for which is? . At the moment the 4.5 million that has been branded about is just rumours however at the age he is and getting MOM in his last Scotland gave I genuinely think he’s worth every penny. Celtic and servo for a number of years paid ludicrous prices for foreigners that were mediocre at best yet they never part with decent money for home grown players. Every club in Scotland never get the true value of players and in reality only the Brown/ Thompson era did we get what we deserve. I see McGinn as a Scotland midfielder for the next 10-15 years and at this precise moment is one of a few Scottish top class midfielder. I personally think 4.5 is a fair price although possibly at the highest end. Every club in this league need to get value for players in need for us to develop and progress. Celtic in particular need home grown players for Europe and at this minute there’s no one better.

{Ed007's Note - The majority of transfer fees are paid over a number of installments and the 'problem' is that Hibs want the bulk of the transfer fee up front which is even stalling potential suitors in England. I'm sure when he does eventually leave Hibs and it gets down to the nitty gritty they'll make sure they get the best possible deal for themselves.
Let's say the price is the suggested £4.5 million clubs might be looking to pay it at £1.5 million a season over 3 years whereas Hibs are say looking for £3 million as a first installment.}

3.) 09 Mar 2018 23:14:41
Sorry for the late response. Yeah I understand that and appreciate it however Hibs or any other club just want value for money, why should we let multi million pound teams give us money in instalments whilst they’ll pay top dollar for players that are not tried and tested. I’m fairly sure Mcginn will end up at Celtic and obviously the deal will suit both clubs in the end, As you know Hibs took a gamble on Mcginn a gamble no one else was willing to take and although the lad has bags of talent it’s through the hibs coaching and training that’s got him to where he is today and I genuinely think he’s a 4 million pound player especially when I see the shect that go for more.

{Ed007's Note - I agree with you about McGinn mate but most transfers are paid in installments.}

Tony watt currently training with Aberdeen. I watched his interview with Simon Ferry (would really recommend it) and he spoke really highly of Derek McInnes. He had the chance to go to Aberdeen before he went to Belgium and has recently said it was the right offer wrong time for him personally.

Thought we were poor today, testimonial or not. Oli Shaw was murder. There is signings needed at hibs. Blackburn's number 2 in the 1st half looked a player wouldn't mind having him.

Anyone think Lennon could be looking at getting that Kouassi in from Celtic on loan. Rumour has it he's looking for a loan move away for game time. Any thoughts?

Theirs a couple of teams in for him if you believe what you read! I never thought it would be possible to get the guy on loan, be great if we could.

What's the everyone's thoughts on hibs current lack of transfer activity so far this window. With the qualifiers fast approaching I feel without kamberi, maclaren, Allan, mcgeouch, Barker. I'm sorry but I feel we would be turned over by anyone. Transfer activity please😂🤞🏻👍🏻.

In my opinion 3 player that hibs should attempt to get in the summer all on free transfers are Ali Crawford, Youssof Mulumbu and Scott Bain.
Another Player that would cost us money that hibs should try and get is Glen Kamara from Dundee he's a cracking cm and I think he could fill the whole McGinn will leave when he eventually moves on.

What's everyone's thoughts on the split fixtures. I feel hibs have a chance of going unbeaten given the sides current form.

Anything about John McGinn.

Hibs2105

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything about any official enquiries about McGinn but there's plenty of teams keeping an eye on him. I think it'll be more likely the summer before he leaves.}

As much as I agree about no teaming winning the league at Easter Road the one thing is that Scott Brown was a boyhood Rangers fan.
